Industry Leader Expands into New Geography, Partners with 2H to Introduce Modified Atmosphere Technology at Upcoming Trade Show.

TransFRESH, the world leader in modified and controlled atmosphere processes for the fresh food industry has announced that it is expanding into the Turkish market with a new selling agent and will exhibit its award-winning TECTROL© pallet service at the FRESH ANTALYA 2008 International Trade Exhibition at the Antalya Expo Center in Turkey from March 27-29, 2008.

TransFRESH, a California-based firm with almost 50 years experience in perishables transport, has long been at the forefront of the controlled and modified atmosphere and logistic solutions industry. With its debut at Fresh Antalya, the company is poised to enter the rapidly growing Turkish market, a major production source of fruits and vegetables. Demonstration of its TECTROL© MA350 atmosphere machine and pallet service will be featured at the stand of the company’s new service provider, 2H, where visitors can see firsthand the positive impact this proven technology has on strawberries, cherries and grapes.

The TECTROL© system is based on modifying or controlling the atmosphere around perishable fruits and vegetables to extend their freshness and market life. The growth potential achieved in the US market over the past 35 years is a clear indicator of the technology’s effectiveness. 1.3 million pallets of the highest quality chilled berries are shipped in the United States under the protection of TECTROL© Natural Atmosphere. The company’s ongoing quality control programs have allowed TECTROL© to provide both the retailer and shipper a consistent value in protecting berry products from shipping point all the way through to the consumer.

TransFRESH Vice President of International Services, Teresa Scattini, says that expanding into Turkey represents a strong opportunity for the company, as is exhibiting at Fresh Antalya and partnering with 2H. “This is an excellent opportunity to reach an international audience with the message that we are now present in the vibrant Turkish market through our new service provider 2H,” said Scattini. “Because our technology delivers better quality arrivals and allows for longer periods of transit, Turkish customers will be able to target higher end markets like the United Kingdom, Germany and Scandinavia, expanding volume to realize better prices and profits.”

Demos of the technology at the 2H stand will attract show-goers who have not yet discovered TECTROL© as a quality management tool. "Because the system guards against the natural elements that cause loss in quality and over-ripening, our product is a truly unique and beneficial management tool that can really benefit this important marketplace," said Scattini. TransFRESH works with customers around the world providing customized solutions to help improve the overall quality of fresh produce, increase profit and sales, reduce costs and shrink, and provide new opportunities for dynamic growth.

Scattini says TransFRESH selected 2H as their selling agent in Turkey because of shared expertise and a focus on the value of consistent research, development and application of technology to help our customers succeed. “Like us, 2H has strong university ties – they also have the benefit of an on-staff agronomist. We think it’s important that our partners share our strengths and skills in the postharvest arena to benefit customers.”

Over its long history, TransFRESH has successfully developed and provided the perishable industry with systems and processes for refrigerated ocean containers and sealed pallet bags. TransFRESH continues to market its controlled and modified atmosphere processes under the trade name TECTROL© Modified and Controlled Atmosphere and to invest in the development of new solutions to further extend the quality and life of perishable products. TransFRESH Corporation's TECTROL© Modified Atmosphere Pallet Services were first introduced in 1968. Since inception, continual packaging, equipment and sealing process innovations have established TECTROL© Atmosphere as the industry standard.
