TransFRESH Releases Interactive Mixer and Loading Guide v.1

Friday, April 15, 2005

On April 15, 2005, TransFRESH unveiled its Interactive Mixer and Loading Guide (Mixer Guide).

Based off of TransFRESH’s popular desk slide chart, the Mixer and Loading Guide is now available through the resource center at www.TransFRESH.com. This interactive tool allows anyone to build a compatible load of mixed produce items and then print the results. The guide alerts the user to any product that is not compatible with other selections made for a specific truckload of mixed produce. Load compatibilities are based on the proper product storage temperature, ethylene sensitivity, icing and odor transfer for each product selected. TransFRESH believes this will become a valuable tool to the produce trade.

The original Mixer Guide Desk Slide Chart was created in 1988 by TransFRESH as a tool to help the Refrigerated Transportation Foundation provide solid guidelines for the proper loading of trucks. Based off of data found in USDA Handbooks #66, #688, #699, and #1070, the slide chart has been well received. Over 25,000 copies have been sold or distributed to the trade. During early 2005, TransFRESH retained Full Steam Marketing & Design of Salinas to take the desk chart, develop and implement an interactive web site. Now the Interactive Mixer and Loading Guide is available through the TransFRESH web site and can be used by all members of the perishable trade.

TransFRESH is asking first time users to complete a basic registration form. Once complete, users will have access via an email password. There is no cost to use the site.
